About Us
Protecting the Home of Baseball for over 150 years, the Cooperstown Fire Department continues it's proud tradition of service in Cooperstown, New York.
With over 100 members specializing in fire suppression, rescue and emergency medical services, the Department stands ready to protect the citizens and visitors of Cooperstown and the surrounding area.
Remembering our history, we look to the future. Always seeking new skills and technologies, the Department operates on the cutting edge. Using the latest innovations, coupled with years of experience, we carry on the tradition of safety and service started over 150 years ago.
Providing emergency medical services to Cooperstown and the surrounding area, the Emergency Squad provides advanced care and rapid transportation to the local trauma center, all at no cost to the patient.
Diversified services, provided by knowledgeable and capable volunteers, in the heart of rural New York State.
Our proud traditions live on both in service and in brotherhood. Our members are all part of a close-knit community, both in Cooperstown and at the fire station. We enjoy the time we spend together on emergency calls, at community events, and at social events throughout the year.
Our unique mix of small town charm and tourist hot spot diversifies our work. A summer baseball injury at historic Doubleday Field, a fall auto accident, a winter ice rescue on Otsego Lake, a springtime fire at a local landmark - all business as usual for the men and women of the Cooperstown Fire Department.
